As an Austinite and Central Texas real estate professional, I’ve observed a segment in the home-buying market between sales agents and investors. Investors have thousands of reps in selling and buying homes while agents have limited experience representing, far removed from the risk in buying homes. In a market sector where inexperience can cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars, it’s paramount to hire an advisor who can speak to value and risk from first-hand knowledge in winning, and most importantly, losing on real estate purchases.
As a General Manager for an institutional investor, I’ve bought and sold 200+ homes per year while the average agent represents 12 transactions annually. In my role, I’ve developed financial analysis models for purchasing homes across the country, deployed millions of capital to execute effective renovations that add true value, and advised our brokerage agents on everything from listing strategy and pricing to negotiations and risk management.
Over the last few years I’ve been fortunate to extend my passion for real estate investing to family and friends who have organically requested my services. This has reconnected me to my ardor for spreading the power of real estate as a wealth generator. General Manager (December 2022 — Present)
Market leader and cross-functional partner driving quality results. Picked up a distressed market during a historical real estate price contraction. In the first 6 months in the seat I personally managed 95 rehabs, sold 164 listings, and managed a portfolio of 100+ properties. All while managing risk through buy box adjustments for the Austin and San Antonio markets, restructuring of Concierge services, and sound underwrites on new leads.
Manager, Pricing Operations (October 2021 — December 2022)
After developing tooling and processes for scaling assessments across national markets, I joined a reorganized Pricing Department of 25+ associates and analysts. Within the first month on the job our Director resigned, leaving responsibilities for the Department’s success to another junior manager and myself. We split the team in half and grinned through radical restructuring of roles, cutting efficiency gains in KPI’S by 5x in delivery of real estate valuations, and developed tooling to support the org’s growth and development, all while fostering morale and organizing a virtual community of direct reports.
Market Manager (April 2019 — October 2021 )
Launched the Austin market, Orchard’s third launch in its national expansion. I led sound acquisitions, quality renovations, and judicious dispositions while being a team lead in the day-to-day operations of Field Ops.
Arnold Group
(2017-2019)
At the Arnold Group I gained extensive leadership experience in all three facets of the development process: construction, design, and development. Learning each facet through a hands-on approach, putting ink to paper in sketching new floor plans, architectural designs, and picking up a tool belt to finish construction punch out. It was a creative learning experience, and one where I learned the physical constraints of construction. It taught me how to be hands-on. Orchard would teach me when to be hands-off.
